The series “Be Glad We Just Want Equality” emerged in the context of the #MeToo movement surrounding Harvey Weinstein. One of the patriarchal system’s deepest fears is that people that are perceived as female seek revenge, when in fact the demand is “simply” that of  equality.

The issue is more relevant than ever in light of the scandals surrounding Jeffrey Epstein and CO. The grotesque manifestations of these structures become visible through cases such as Gisèle Pelicot and Collien Fernandes. Their stories reveal only the tips of the icebergs while opening up space for public debate and confrontation. The personal is political.

After all these years, the question remains: “Why do we still have to protest this fucking shit?” Perhaps “arming ourselves” is the only solution after all?
